Training Le Luc, Var · report

Formula – race training

A single-seater, a narrow cockpit inches above the asphalt, helmet and suit – the first laps teach humility. This is not a display of speed but a lesson in focus under load.

The Danske Gas team trains for it at AGS – Automobiles Gonfaronnaises Sportives – a French marque from Gonfaron in the Provençal Var, a former Formula 1 constructor that grew out of mechanic Henri Julien's workshop.

Today AGS runs its driving school in Le Luc on the Côte d'Azur, with private access to the Circuit du Var; behind the wheel of genuine F1 cars, precision stops being a slogan and becomes a habit.

We have a fondness for the South of France – its calm and its sense of measure. Running the company asks for the same attention: the precision we bring to energy is first rehearsed on the track.
