Art & patronage.
A collection and long-term patronage of the arts, pursued alongside the energy business – from paintings by Fangor and Nowosielski in our rooms to the choir of Montserrat Abbey.
The paintings we work among.
Danske Gas maintains a collection of modern art – including works by Wojciech Fangor and Jerzy Nowosielski, alongside other Polish and international contemporary painters.
As space is limited, we show only part of the collection in our offices; every few months we replace the works on display with others from the holdings of the company or its shareholders. The collection includes several dozen paintings in total.

The paintings hang on our walls because we look at them every day.

Faces that remember antiquity.
The works of Igor Mitoraj, collected systematically over many years, hold a place of their own in the principal shareholder’s collection. Here we take a closer look at one of them.

‘Veiled Face’ is among the most affecting works of Igor Mitoraj’s early period. A human face swathed in rhythmic bands of matter loses its sight, but not its presence. The veil draws the eye to the lips and to the tension held beneath the surface.
The silvery form brightens on its swells and darkens with patina in its folds. It recalls an ancient relic, though it was made in the twentieth century. The veil is at once a bandage and a shroud – the artist shows the classical canon through the fragment.
The work was made by the French house of Christofle as a New Year composition for 1977. The artist’s signature and the maker’s hallmarks on the reverse place it between sculpture and the silversmith’s art. In the collection it stands among other faces by Mitoraj and, like each of them, looks out from beneath its veil at those who have come to see it.
The stage and the arts.
Beyond the business, the company’s principal shareholder privately supports culture – the opera and concert stage, and the visual arts.
We support culture and take part in it ourselves – at concerts, at the opera, at exhibitions. We invite members of our team, each with a guest, to opera houses and museums in Poland and across Europe.

Four Wednesdays on Pole Mokotowskie.
In August 2026 Danske Gas partnered the LOLEK Kino Letnie ‘Oscarowe Środy’ edition on Pole Mokotowskie: four Wednesdays, four films honoured by the Academy, a cinema under the open sky.

Screenings began at dusk, as the sky darkened to indigo.
Private performance for Danske Gas at Teatr Nowe Formy
A private performance for Danske Gas employees and partners: ‘Obiecuję, obiecuję ci…’ at Teatr Nowe Formy in Warsaw’s Old Town.

The production is an original remix of texts by Hanoch Levin, written and directed by Rafał Pyka, starring Dominika Lignicka and Rafał Pyka. It begins like a romantic comedy and ends with a question about the price of promises made at the start of a relationship.
